Style Guides

I have created Style Guides for Dramatic, Natural, Classic, Romantic, Gamine, Ingenue and Angelic, for purchase below.  They are now 17+ pages each and illustrated with polyvores.  To find your results, get McJimsey/Northrup Essence Style Consult.

Each guide contains: shapes, line, fabric, print, pattern, use of color, accessories, belts, bags, evening wear, shoes, hats, blouses, sweaters, jackets, skirts, pants, dresses, hair, jewelry, makeup, where to shop, combinations with secondary styles, and polyvores in all indicated seasons.

  • The Style Guides use the McJimsey/Northrup/Kentner categories, but information from Kibbe  (except for Angelic which he does not cover), thus shrinking his categories.  David Kibbe's MetamorphosisKibbe Quiz

  1. There are mistakes in the Anglic text in the rubric "Line and silhouette". These are the Romantic lines, not the Angelic's.

    1. @Caty, thank you. You will notice that style guide is shorter and costs less. The reason is that Angelic is not used by other authors. So there is less information about what Angelic lines are. If you have more information for corrections, please email me a source.

  2. Yes, I do have some infos about the Angelic lines: long and narrow vertical lines, elongated ovals, soft, draped. Very low contrast, soft and blended colors, monochromatic schemes.

  3. Thanks! (I think I was unable to send you your scores b/c your email address failed; not sure why.)

  4. The sources for the infos are John Kitchener's video about Angelics, and the book "Shopping for the Real You" by Andrea Pflaumer.

  5. In Pflaumer's book there is this quiz too, I own the book. I got the most answers in the Angelic category. :)

  6. I do too, so now I've updated the guide for Angelic. :)

  8. I have looked at your Style Guides and it surprises me to find that there is no room for those under 5'2'', not even within the Gamines or the Ingenues. I am not even 5' (151cm) Should I feel angry? ;-)

  9. I have summarized several authors here and didn't create these guidelines. I would include yourself in the shortest category on that item of the quiz.
